Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje went to war at UFC 300 and the world was left in awe. This was once in a lifetime moment. Fight fans are relishing every bit of this brutal KO. But no one seemed quite as impressed as former BMF title holder Jorge Masvidal.
Jorge Masvidal was practically giddy as he broke down Holloway’s stunning last-second knockout of Gaethje. He lauded the Hawaiian’s sheer grit and warrior spirit. He said that he would never engage in a brawl with someone who points to the ground like Max Holloway did. He felt that Blessed was very confident in his abilities and that ultimately paid off.

It’s clear Masvidal has a deep respect for Holloway’s performance, calling him “all fighter’s favorite fighter.” And who can blame him? The sheer drama and intensity of that final exchange had the entire MMA world on the edge of their seats. Masvidal and Gaethje also had some brief rivalry of their own.
Of course, Masvidal has a bit of a vested interest in all this. He won the inaugural BMF title himself back in 2019 against Nate Diaz. He relinquished that belt later. Justin Gaethje vs. Dustin Poirier fight would then crown the new BMF champion. Gaethje wowed the crowd with an insane head-kick KO of Poirier.
Jorge Masvidal sends a stern warning to former BMF rival Nate Diaz
Few in the fight game can match the sheer bravado of Jorge Masvidal when it comes to trash talk. And with his upcoming boxing match against Diaz on the horizon, “Gamebred” is already unleashing the verbal haymakers.
Masvidal was recently interviewed by Ariel Helwani. He made it crystal clear that he had no intention of taking it easy on his old rival. He’s downright happy at the prospect of putting Diaz through the wringer.
'He [Nate Diaz] knows that if he's not in shape, I'm going to make him look bad and I'm going to get him out of there in two rounds. He knows with me, you got to die every day in the gym to maybe step in that ring and have a fighting chance. I don't play that s**t. I'm trying to kill this motherf**ker and he knows it personally.'Jorge Masvidal via The MMA Hour
The bad blood between these two is still alive and well, despite the passage of time. And Masvidal, never one to mince words, is more than happy to stoke the flames of their rivalry. The former BMF contenders will now once again share the ring, albeit in a different sport.
