Goran Ivanisevic predicts a great run at the US Open this year for Novak Djokovic. Having coached the 24-time Grand Slam champion for nearly five years, Ivanisevic understands what motivates Djokovic and expressed that after winning the Olympic gold, the Serbian will likely be more motivated than ever to stand alone at the top with 25 Slams.
Djokovic has conquered every major title in the sport and will have nothing to lose at this year’s last Grand Slam in New York. Ivanisevic hopes the 37-year-old shatters one more record and contemplates retirement afterward, though he believes the former World No. 1 might never want to retire.
I am so glad that he finally won this gold. I wish him 25th Slam, to break the absolute record, and then he can retire, although he will never retire, this guy. I think he can find the motivation, the gold will lift him. If he plays like this, he is the man to beat at the US Open. We don’t have a crystal ball, but if he is motivated like here, he will be the favourite in New York.

Goran Ivanisevic strongly believes Novak Djokovic will be present at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics
In a post-match press conference that followed his triumph against Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic hinted that his Olympics journey hasn’t concluded yet by expressing the desire to compete in the 2028 edition which will be held in Los Angeles.
Goran Ivanisevic, his former coach, also believes this a possibility given the 37-year-old’s tenacity.
Considering how crazy he is, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him in Los Angeles as well.
