“Excited to be back,” Andy Murray looking to regain dominance and have a ginormous 2021
The former World No.1, Andy Murray, has unfortunately had to deal with a number of perilous injuries in his career so far. This resulted in unprecedented setbacks for the three-time Grand Slam champion. Murray, who was initially cited as one of the top contenders to win Majors, was cast aside due to immense physical troubles.
Even though he made a successful comeback and won the Antwerp title after his 2019 surgery, problems resurfaced for him in 2020. Yet the Scot will kick off the new season whilst participating at the Delray Beach Open. Further, he has commented on importance that this tournament will pose for the rest of the season for him.
‘Delray Beach will be a good test‘ – Murray
During a chat with tennis broadcaster and writer Ravi Ubha, Andy declared that he’ll be back in action in the U.S. The former World No.1 is currently one of the myriad number of top players who have confirmed attendance at this event. He said, “I am looking forward to starting the 2021 season in Delray Beach. This event will be a good test for me and I’m excited to be back playing on the Tour.”
In 2020, Murray had a disappointing conclusion to the year. The Scot’s hip injuries resurfaced and he was ousted in the first round at the Bett1Hulks Indoors and French Open.
Even so, the Olympic gold medalist is not one to back down from a challenge and will grace the courts staring 5 January in Delray Beach.
