Red Bull will win every race in the 2023 F1 season: George Russell
George Russell bets on Red Bull to sweep F1 2023 season.

George Russell has made an audacious prediction for the upcoming 2023 Formula One season, claiming that Red Bull would “win every single race this season.” Russell feels the team has the title “sewn up” after the opening race in Bahrain when Red Bull secured a solid 1-2 finish, with Max Verstappen claiming the victory.
Russell, who finished seventh in the race, discussed his hopes for the remainder of the season, claiming that no team will challenge Red Bull for the championship. “Red Bull has got this championship sewn up, I don’t think anyone is going to be fighting with them this year,” he said.
“I expect they should win every single race this season. That is my bet. With the performance they’ve got I don’t see anyone challenging them.” Russell’s prognosis predated Red Bull’s stellar showing in Bahrain when they outpaced their rivals. However, he observed that the team’s pace looked weaker during the race than it did during testing, indicating that there is still room for development.
“They might not get on pole all of the time, because we know that Ferrari are very competitive in qualifying. But when it comes to race pace, I think they’re in a very, very strong position,” he said.
Lewis Hamilton echoes their teammate’s concerns over the lack of pace
Lewis Hamilton, Russell’s Mercedes teammate, finished fifth in the race and reiterated his teammate’s comments on the team’s lack of performance. Hamilton cited the team’s troubles on a lack of downforce, implying that the team would need to add more downforce to the vehicle in order to compete.
“We have got a lot of work to do and we have got to add downforce to the car. We are lacking a lot of downforce, so that is really where the time will come. As soon as we put more load in the rear and the front, we’ll pick up that pace,” said the seven-time champ.
While it remains to be seen whether Russell’s prediction comes true, it is apparent that Red Bull has begun the season strongly. With Verstappen winning in Bahrain and teammate Sergio Perez finishing second, the team has already taken a commanding lead in the championship.
However, with 22 races remaining, the other teams have plenty of opportunities to come up. Ferrari, in particular, demonstrated good performance throughout testing and qualifying and might threaten Red Bull’s reign. They had a bad start to the season, with Charles retiring and Sainz finishing fourth. Mercedes, however, lacked the competitive edge to fight the Redbulls since they were at least a second slower every lap. It would be interesting to see which team takes the fight to Redbull. F1 will return to Saudi Arabia for the third time for their next race, and we must keep an eye out for any developments made by the teams in the interim.
