While 2024 was not the easiest season for Red Bull or Max Verstappen, the Dutchman won his fourth consecutive drivers’ title despite challenges from rival teams. After the current campaign ended in Abu Dhabi, the Dutchman shared an emotional message over the radio to the Red Bull pit wall.
Max Verstappen began the season with seven wins in the first half of the calendar. However, danger loomed over his grasp of the championship as McLaren soon passed Red Bull in terms of performance.
Despite that threat, Verstappen remained composed and continued to fight like a world champion. This was further showcased at the Brazilian GP, where the Dutchman proved to the paddock that he still had things under control.
Moreover, with another win in Qatar and the 2024 title already under the belt, the 27-year-old went on to complete the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi. Though he finished P6 after a chaotic race, he thanked the Red Bull pitwall for the continued support during the 2024 season.

Max: Not the best fastest race, but I just wanted to say a big thank you for this season, guys. It's not been easy at times. We still have quite a few things to improve on, but we still won a championship.
So, thank you very much for all the hard work…
Verstappen’s radio conveyed that Red Bull needed to sort out their problems over the winter break as rivals have caught up to the Austrian giant. The engineers in Milton Keynes would have to work tirelessly to smooth out the woes that troubled the RB20.

Verstappen’s massive results for the team did not go unnoticed by the team principal, Christian Horner, who had a small chat with the former over the radio and claimed that the Dutchman had an epic campaign, despite battling with rivals and the woeful RB20 every race weekend.
Horner: Thanks very much, Max, and it wasn't our day today, you've had an epic season. So, yeah, thanks for your effort. And yeah, some well-earned rest and hop back at it next year.
