In May, Red Bull aero-genius Adrian Newey announced his departure from the team. The British engineer chose to leave after spending the last 18 years with them. Rumors suggested that Newey might join several teams, including Mercedes, Ferrari, and Aston Martin. However, he has not yet made a decision and will likely take some much-needed rest before making any decisions. Reports even surfaced that Ferrari might not be willing to wait further for the Englishman.

Ex-F1 driver David Coulthard said that Adrian Newey likely wouldn’t go to Ferrari during a conversation with Eddie Jordan. Jordan, who manages Newey, claimed that Coulthard’s statements sounded very speculative. He found it far-fetched that the aero-genius wouldn’t join Ferrari or McLaren, given their previous discussions. The Irishman suspected there might be more to the discussed situation.

What you’ve just said is extremely fanciful. If you remember the things I’ve come out with, and Adrian has come out with.

Eddie Jordan suggested that Red Bull should consider reaching out to Newey to see if he would be interested in returning to work with them. However, Jordan believed that it might be too late for that to happen now. He thought that the opportunity for the 65-year-old to come back to Red Bull has probably passed. Now it wouldn’t be practical to make such an offer at this point, so it’s difficult to predict where the aero-genius lands next.

There’s an argument to say Red Bull should approach him and ask if he’d come back again! But I think it’s far too late.

Eddie Jordan claims Adrian Newey’s current focus is on things he has not been able to do before

Eddie Jordan explained that Adrian Newey is not in a hurry to make his decision regarding F1. He is currently enjoying his free time with his family and friends. Jordan explained for many years, Newey worked non-stop, day and night since he was 19. So as he has approached his mid 60s a much needed break is required for him. He’s enjoying activities and experiences which he never had the chance to do before.

The reality is that Adrian is spending downtime. He has spent every year of his life, night and day, since 19. He’s now mid-60s. He is having fun, his daughter got married, he’s doing other things that he’s never been able to do before.
Eddie Jordan stated.

Certainly, Eddie Jordan stated that Newey needs a break and isn’t sure about returning to the sport. Adrian Newey’s dedication to designing cars left him little time to enjoy his life. Now, as he approaches his 60s, he is currently enjoying his time. Therefore, no one can confirm where Newey will end up in the 2025 F1 season.
