Mercedes Formula 1 driver Kimi Antonelli appeared to poke fun at Kim Kardashian after a viral moment from the Monaco Grand Prix sparked widespread discussion online. On June 11, Antonelli shared a lighthearted Instagram video in which he repeatedly searched for a missing towel.
The clip opened with the 19-year-old asking, “I was wondering, have you seen my towel?” before turning to Mercedes teammate George Russell.
“George, have you seen Kimi’s towel?” a voice behind the camera asked Russell.
“No,” Russell replied. The video then cuts to Antonelli washing his hands, only for him to begin searching again moments later. “Hey, have you seen my towel?” he said.
The post quickly caught the attention of Formula 1 fans, many of whom linked it to a viral incident from the Monaco Grand Prix celebrations. A widely circulated video appeared to show Kardashian picking up a white towel that had reportedly been left near the winner’s podium following the race.
In the footage, Kardashian was seen walking through the celebration area before taking the towel and using it to wipe her face. The clip rapidly spread across social media, becoming a major talking point among Formula 1 fans in the days after the event.
Neither Antonelli nor Mercedes directly referenced Kardashian in the Instagram video. Instead, the team appeared to lean into the viral conversation with a playful skit, turning one of the most-discussed moments from Monaco into a joke that quickly generated reactions across social media.
The joke came just days after Antonelli secured one of the biggest victories of his young career by winning the Monaco Grand Prix. Kardashian was also in attendance during the prestigious race weekend, joining a host of high-profile celebrities and guests who traveled to Monaco for Formula 1’s marquee event.
Lewis Hamilton recently broke his silence on relationship with Kim Kardashian during Monaco Grand Prix weekend
Kim Kardashian recently attended the Monaco Grand Prix alongside her sister Khloé Kardashian and was seen supporting Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton throughout the weekend.
Following the race, Hamilton publicly addressed Kardashian while speaking to reporters during a press conference. After being asked about a “high-profile supporter” in attendance, the seven time Formula 1 world champion said, “It’s amazing to have her come this weekend and have her support.”
He then added, “It’s amazing to have good people around you, and good people supporting you, and you know, she does that for me every day.”
After the race, Kardashian joined celebrations near the track, where Hamilton greeted her with a hug. He later appeared to blow her a kiss from the podium after receiving his second place trophy.
The pair have largely kept their relationship private in recent months. However, Hamilton’s comments marked one of his most direct public remarks about Kardashian since romance rumors began earlier this year. Their appearance together in Monaco drew significant attention throughout the Grand Prix weekend, including the viral towel moment that later became the subject of Antonelli’s Instagram joke.
