Lewis Hamilton is suffering from an extremely disappointing debut season with Ferrari in 2025. With the season nearing completion, Hamilton has yet to achieve his maiden podium with the Italian constructor. Although the Briton is ready to rebuild himself and keep fighting hard, he has yet to prove himself and return the team to its lost glory. Despite the dismal slump, ex-F1 champion Alain Prost sided with the 40-year-old and gave him some words of affirmation.

Lewis Hamilton had accepted the unexpected issues he faced at Ferrari and that he was continuing to find fixes for them. The Briton even sent documents to the team containing potential fixes to the disappointing pace of the car. However, Charles Leclerc has clearly remained the better driver and is outscoring the 40-year-old on multiple occasions.

Hamilton had even talked about feeling positive after coming back from the emotional summer break and that he expected better results. However, a brutal penalty for the Italian GP and only a P6 finish weren’t good enough for the Briton. Still, Alain Prost believes that the 40-year-old is suffering from a poor spell, but hasn’t lost his touch in Formula 1 and can soon return to his winning ways.

Alain Prost put forth his shock and surprise at the fact that Lewis Hamilton could not score well with Ferrari in 2025. Prost refused to believe that Hamilton was losing his talent, or even worse, completely losing his talent. Hence, the four-time champion insisted that it wouldn’t be too long before the 40-year-old stars achieve impressive results with the Italian constructor.

I absolutely don’t believe that Lewis Hamilton’s talent has diminished or, worse, been lost.

Alain Prost reveals Lewis Hamilton’s ‘worst feeling’ at Ferrari

The news of Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari came as a massive shock to everyone on the grid, as he set his eyes on becoming an eight-time F1 champion with the team. Although Hamilton is still positive about his chances and wants to stay with the team for the long run, it could all change in a moment. Alain Prost pondered over the good and the ugly feelings that the 40-year-old was bound to face in his Ferrari career.

Alain Prost pointed out that winning with Ferrari felt extremely good, much better than winning with any other team on the Formula 1 grid. However, if a driver couldn’t bring home a victory or good results with Maranello, he would suffer from the worst feelings as compared to being winless with any other team. Prost reckoned that everyone was aware of this fact, but the one who suffered from it, like Lewis Hamilton, knew what it really felt like.

When you win with Ferrari, it feels better than with any other team, but when you don’t, it feels worse than with any other team. Everyone knows it, everyone writes about it, but in real life, it’s different.

Alain Prost added

Ferrari will have to cover massive grounds of improvement against the rivals if they want to emerge as a winning force. The team has currently held onto their runner-up spot in the constructors’ championship. But, they are facing an immediate threat from Mercedes right behind them as the Italian constructor must come up with better results with Lewis Hamilton, and fast.
