Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari is regarded as one of the greatest sporting news in the history of Formula 1. The seven-time world champion is believed to take the Italian constructor back to their glory days. Hence, ahead of Hamilton’s eminent debut, McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella put forth his excitement with the move.

Lewis Hamilton‘s first day at Ferrari’s factory was supported by a sea of fans in and around the facility. The Briton was being called a ‘superstar’ due to the massive glamor and grandeur behind his team switch. Andrea Stella reckoned that despite witnessing the situation from a distance, the entire introduction was ‘great’ for Hamilton and Maranello. The 53-year-old accepted that he felt the ‘most excited’ by the events despite being with Ferrari for over 15 years.

Observing from a distance I can say that I think the way it is, at least for how this has been reported, it was a great introduction, of Lewis to Ferrari. To be honest as a fan of Formula One, by having been 15 years at Ferrari before I felt excited myself.

To see something that is historic for Formula One, a seven-time world champion going to Ferrari, one of the most iconic teams. I think Ferrari and Hamilton handled this very well.

Andrea Stella wants make Lewis Hamilton’s life ‘difficult’ at Ferrari

Ferrari deemed a great performance in the 2024 season against McLaren’s dominant campaign. However, Maranello is still lacking pace against McLaren as they couldn’t score the constructors’ championship. Stella believed that following the initial excitement, the team would return to working at the start of the season. The Italian highlighted that McLaren would try their best to make Hamilton’s life ‘difficult’ in the coming season.

But ultimately I’m sure they know very well what counts is what’s happening on track. After the initial excitement I’m sure they will very much focus on making sure that the preparation is good and on our side we’ll try and make their life a little bit difficult.

Andrea Stella noted

The 2025 season would be extremely exciting due to the drivers’ lineup changes in multiple teams. The top teams seem prepared to take on the battle for the Constructors’ Championship. Moreover, Ferrari’s alleged chance at scoring the championship win after a drought of over 16 years would be extremely emotional for all the Tifosi.
