McLaren boss confesses he’s ‘excited’ for Lewis Hamilton’s historic Ferrari stint

Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari is regarded as one of the greatest sporting news in the history of Formula 1. The seven-time world champion is believed to take the Italian constructor back to their glory days. Hence, ahead of Hamilton’s eminent debut, McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella put forth his excitement with the move.
Lewis Hamilton‘s first day at Ferrari’s factory was supported by a sea of fans in and around the facility. The Briton was being called a ‘superstar’ due to the massive glamor and grandeur behind his team switch. Andrea Stella reckoned that despite witnessing the situation from a distance, the entire introduction was ‘great’ for Hamilton and Maranello. The 53-year-old accepted that he felt the ‘most excited’ by the events despite being with Ferrari for over 15 years.
Stella believed that two highly historic entities were coming together amidst Hamilton’s move to Ferrari. The Italian claimed that the team and the driver handled the welcoming event very well as the Briton went to the most iconic team in the history of Formula 1.

Ferrari deemed a great performance in the 2024 season against McLaren’s dominant campaign. However, Maranello is still lacking pace against McLaren as they couldn’t score the constructors’ championship. Stella believed that following the initial excitement, the team would return to working at the start of the season. The Italian highlighted that McLaren would try their best to make Hamilton’s life ‘difficult’ in the coming season.
The 2025 season would be extremely exciting due to the drivers’ lineup changes in multiple teams. The top teams seem prepared to take on the battle for the Constructors’ Championship. Moreover, Ferrari’s alleged chance at scoring the championship win after a drought of over 16 years would be extremely emotional for all the Tifosi.
