Lewis Hamilton‘s father Anthony Hamilton was present at the Australian GP, donning his full support to his son in his Ferrari debut. Hamilton, despite showcasing great results in the test, couldn’t race to his full potential on Sunday. The Briton suffered from a botched strategy from Maranello and could only finish in P10 behind Oscar Piastri.

Lewis Hamilton seemed extremely confident in his chances of performing well in his debut race. Hamilton’s known qualifying struggles seemed to be present in Australia as well. The 40-year-old could only manage a P8 start in Melbourne and couldn’t move up the pecking order with ease at the rain-laden Australian GP in Melbourne.

Moreover, Ferrari decided to go ahead with a highly risky strategy of racing with Hards during wet conditions. This caused Hamilton to further dwindle on the track against the rivals. Anthony Hamilton who had already won the hearts of the people after his wholesome gesture towards Isack Hadjar, has issued confidence in the 40-year-old’s capabilities.

We’re so happy to be here. Would’ve preferred a better result today but these things happen

Hamilton is set to go up against Charles Leclerc and will face massive struggles in surpassing the latter. Both drivers are extremely sought after and will put forth great competition for the race win. Hence, the 2025 season is set to be one of the most competitive seasons ever, potentially in the history of Ferrari in Formula 1.

What did Anthony Hamilton do to Isack Hadjar that won everyone’s hearts?

RB’s rookie Isack Hadjar couldn’t impress everyone on the grid with his performances at the Australian GP. Hadjar crashed out during the early stages of the race and couldn’t even finish the race. Anthony Hamilton was present at the scene and didn’t think twice before hugging Hadjar following his reaction. The 69-year-old comforted the rookie and won everyone’s hearts. Hamilton Sr. recalled that he felt deeply for the Frenchman after seeing him so sad. The Briton accepted that F1 drivers dreamed of racing in the pinnacle since they were just 8 years old. Hence, Hamilton’s father wanted to just hug the 20-year-old after seeing his sad reaction.

As soon as I saw what happened to Isack, my heart felt, I just felt for him. It was just so sad to see cause I know how hard it is when these kids are 8 years of age and they dream of becoming a formula 1 race driver. There’s a lot of pressure, all the way up. And you’re sitting there waiting for your first race, and it doesn’t happen, that’s the worst feeling in the world. I just wanted to give him a hug.
