Hollywood superstar Will Smith has backed Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton to have an extremely strong outing in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend. Smith has been a longtime supporter of Hamilton and has watched several races throughout the years.

Lewis Hamilton is one of the most well-known personalities in the world of motorsport. With seven world titles to his name, the 39-year-old is often seen as one of, if not the greatest driver of all time.

Hamilton has failed to get to grips with the W15 ever since the resumption of Formula 1 after the summer break. He will therefore look to make the most out of his start in order to quickly make up places during the 51-lap Azerbaijan GP.

Mercedes yet again failed to deliver good results with their W15 during the Azerbaijan GP qualifying on Saturday. Lewis Hamilton has thereafter delivered his verdict on the team’s shortcomings ahead of the race.

Reporter: We heard you on radio complaining about the tire temperatures, was that the main issue today?
Lewis Hamilton: That was 100% the issue.
Lewis Hamilton said after the qualifying at Baku

Hamilton complained of issues with finding the right temperatures in order to generate the required grip with the W15. The 39-year-old has been fairly lackluster in charting good lap times despite performing well in practice throughout the campaign.

The Silver Arrows are hopeful of managing their issues in order to battle wholly for points and podiums on Sunday. The W15 appeared convincingly fast on the straights, which will be a positive sign for them going into the Azerbaijan GP.
