Lewis Hamilton is statistically the most successful driver in F1 history. The Briton shattered records during his dominant years with Mercedes. Now, as the seven-time world champion joins Scuderia Ferrari, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has highlighted his impact on the iconic carmaker.

Hamilton’s Maranello arrival attracted large crowds, leading to the declaration of a ‘state of emergency’ in the region. The F1 star reportedly lured in big sponsors to the Italian team ahead of his switch. Additionally, the 40-year-old’s first post in Ferrari gear attracted over $400,000 in revenue.

At the brand level, his arrival is definitely good: he brings a new air. He will be a nice couple with Charles Leclerc.

Benedetto Vigna said, as reported by FormulaPassion.it

Lewis Hamilton’s experience valuable for Ferrari

The Ferrari CEO emphasized that Hamilton’s vast experience will play an important role in helping the Italian team improve. The Briton has won seven F1 world titles since 2008. On the other hand, Ferrari has faced a massive title drought since the same year, including Sebastian Vettel‘s failed campaigns against Lewis Hamilton in 2017 and 2018.

I expect a hand for the racing part from the arrival of Hamilton.

Benedetto Vigna stated

Certainly, the Prancing Horse has high ambitions for its latest signing. Lewis Hamilton does possess the ability to bring glory back to Maranello. However, the entire title scenario will depend on how Ferrari fares against rival teams at the first round of the year in Australia.
