Berlie Collins former Aston Martin strategist explained how Red Bull’s car is weakening it’s performance following RB20’s upgrades. The Austrian team has failed to continue its dominance in the sport this season as rivals manage to catch up with its performance.

After watching the first race, Collins was convinced that Red Bull has done a great job again this season. However, as time passes by new races it’s becoming clear that they might facing troubles putting these new changes into action.

I thought 'they've hit the mark again, after watching the first race. But now we're starting to see that maybe they're struggling to implement these updates.

These small signs and the fall in their performance highlights that the team is struggling a bit, which is a noticeable change from their previous performance. Bernie Collins claims Red Bull took a ‘risky’ approach with RB20

The 36-year-old expressed her analysis on Red Bull’s RB20. She stated Red bull started the year with a car that had a very different design from what they had before. Even though Red Bull’s previous chassis was powerful, the Austrian surprised everyone with this new design which is similar to Mercedes style.

I think the big concern for Red Bull is that they started the year with this concept very different car from what we had seen before, we were all a little surprised by the fact that they changed the car in different ways, given its power, more in Mercedes style.

Further, the ex-F1 strategist explained that Red Bull is making excuses like not understanding how everything would work together and that the updates they brought are not working as expected. The Irish woman claimed this as a risky move because these small problems with their new car design shows that it’s not a sure thing.

At Red Bull we're now starting to hear some things like: 'Oh, we didn't quite understand the correlation', or 'we're not making the updates work as expected' . All these little things with a different concept car are not a guarantee. When I saw a different concept and thought it was a risk.
Bernie Collins expressed

Overall, Bernie Collins highlighted that Red Bull will face more difficulties with their car compared to previous year, as it has everything what needed and RB20 lacks that. However, Red Bull fans hope that Max Verstappen will achieve more grand prix wins this season and maintain the lead in the Constructors’ Championship.
