German motorsport racer Mick Schumacher has been in search of a second chance on the grid since the 2022 season. Schumacher raced for the Haas F1 team for two years failing to make his mark as a competent driver.
Mick Schumacher is the son of motorsport legend Michael Schumacher. The latter had a glorious career in Formula 1, amassing a record seven drivers’ championships. Schumacher Jr. therefore wishes to uphold his father’s name by establishing himself as a top racer.
Former Formula 1 owner Bernie Ecclestone has now delivered a rather disappointing verdict on Mick Schumacher. Ecclestone claims that Audi owned Sauber and has now rejected Schumacher as an option for the 2025 season.
Schumacher was rumored to be of interest for teams such as Williams Racing and Sauber since the start of the season. However, the 25-year-old will now have no option but to wait to make a return to the fierce F1 grid.
Mick Schumacher dreams of making an F1 return after botched Haas tenure
Mick Schumacher secured a total of only 12 points during his tenure with the Kannapolis-based Haas F1 team. He was sacked at the end of 2022 and is currently upholding a reserve driver role with the Toto Wolff-led Mercedes.
The 25-year-old has deemed F1 a big goal, claiming to focus all his power on making a sensational return to the sport. Schumacher also drove for the Enstone-based Alpine Racing team in the WEC earlier this year.
Many individuals have vested their faith in the German and have wished for a second chance to be offered to him. He will now carry out his duties for the Silver Arrows hoping to make an impression for a move in the coming years.
