Lewis Hamilton is facing the hardest time of his career right now. After the first half of the season, the seven-time world champion has almost nothing to show for during his debut Ferrari run. This has led to critics demanding the Briton to give up on his ambitions for Maranello. However, one such critic, Bernie Ecclestone has now done a complete 180 over his previous remarks.

Since the start of the season, Lewis Hamilton has struggled to get up to speed. Originally, it seemed that the F1 star was just taking time to adjust to a new team. Though, things have only gone worse. Lewis Hamilton has grown more and more frustrated with every race. The seven-time world champion has even called himself absolutely useless, asking Ferrari to just go and find his replacement.

Bernie Ecclestone previously claimed that if Hamilton tried to continue at Ferrari, he would simply be cheating himself. It would’ve been better for the 40-year-old to leave the team before everything turned into a disaster.

Now, the 94-year-old has changed his mind. Bernie Ecclestone insisted that there was nothing negative about Ferrari’s present leadership or the Italian staff working at Maranello. However, Ecclestone suggested that it’s time for someone to take full charge of the team’s future direction. The former F1 chief declared that perhaps signing Lewis Hamilton was not the right call. The seven-time world champion is quite talented, though, according to Ecclestone, it makes things quite political.

At the moment, I cannot say anything negative about the Italian staff working for Ferrari. But I think the team needs someone to take charge, find the right direction and get the job done. I am not sure that taking Lewis was the right decision. Lewis is obviously talented, but a little bit political, which is typical for Ferrari and typical for him.

Bernie Ecclestone told F1 Destinations

Bernie Ecclestone made a surprising claim over Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari stint. He insisted that the F1 star can feel alive once again soon, something that would turn around the current condition of the Italian team.

But he could come to life again which would be good for him and good for Ferrari.

Ex-F1 team boss gives much-needed advice to Lewis Hamilton

Just like Bernie Ecclestone, former Haas F1 team boss Guenther Steiner has been critical of Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari stint. The Italian-American has hit out at the 40-year-old’s constant flow of negative comments. However, it seems that Steiner wants Hamilton to turn things around and rediscover his mojo.

The former Haas boss pointed out that Lewis Hamilton simply needs to focus on getting the maximum out of the car. He asserted that the Briton needs to filter out all the noise, and not care about paddock chatter. At the end of the day, the biggest enemy for a driver was the pressure they put on themselves. Steiner insisted that Hamilton was trying too hard at the moment.

Grit your teeth, give it your all, but don’t get too mental. Not constantly thinking about what others think or say. If you can’t beat Charles, try to stick with him. The biggest enemy is internal pressure. And at the moment he is trying too much.

Guenther Steiner told Web.de

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton seems to be trapped in a downward spiral. The British driver is facing a difficult time on-track that only destroys his confidence after every race. Hamilton must try and get back on-track. The F1 star needs to focus solely on his driving and make improvements after the summer break.
