Carlos Sainz after the British GP felt Ferrari’s performance was not good enough. The Spaniard reckoned reverting to their Imola specification for the British GP was a waste of time. At the Spanish GP, both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz struggled with the upgrades. Ferrari decided to stick to its Imola-spec for Silverstone, which made the car drivable.
Carlos Sainz after the race expressed dissatisfaction saying it was clearly not a good race. He pointed out that Ferrari’s car was unchanged since the Imola race. Other teams had made improvements that added about two tenths of a second to their performance. Sainz said Ferrari couldn’t keep up with these advancements, so they had to revert to using the Imola-specification car. This setback highlighted they were unable to benefit from the newer upgrades.
It is clearly not good enough. We have basically the same car as in Imola and since Imola everyone has upgraded, probably added two tenths to the car and we have had to revert.Carlos Sainz said, as reported by Motorsport.com

Further, The Spaniard explained that Ferrari lost two to three months of potential aerodynamic improvements in the wind tunnel during that period. He indicated that this setback was due to recent decisions that didn’t lead to the expected improvements. Ferrari missed out on valuable opportunities to make the car faster and more competitive over the past few months and now everyone is ahead of them.
We have lost two or three months of performance gain in the wind tunnel or performance we could have added in these three months, so clearly we haven't taken the right calls recently.Carlos Sainz stated
Carlos Sainz unhappy with Ferrari’s lack of pace
Carlos Sainz expressed that Ferrari had given everything they’ve got to the maximum. He highlighted the critical moments where the track conditions were transitioning from wet to dry. Between these challenges he managed to pull ahead by six or seven seconds over his rivals. The Spaniard mentioned he enjoyed those challenges which highlighted satisfaction with the team’s performance despite the challenges faced.
I think we did the maximum, Especially in the middle of the race when it was slicks-on-wet, I managed to catch the podium positions by six or seven seconds in those conditions that I always enjoy.Carlos Sainz explained

Further, Sainz claimed honestly, the decision of tires and instructions given on radio were correct. However, he felt it was unfortunate that the car wasn’t fast enough. The Spaniard reckoned that if they had been quicker, they would have definitely been competing for a podium finish or even a win. Despite their best efforts and good strategy, their lack of speed held them back from achieving a top position in the race.
Honestly, all the calls were pretty much spot on, all the tyres, all the radio calls. It was just a shame we were not faster because I feel like we would have been 100% in the fight for the podium or the win.Carlos Sainz added
Certainly, Carlos Sainz thought the lack of speed at the British GP cost them the podium because everything was on point. Fans hope for a better performance in the upcoming races and want upgrades. Sainz secured fifth position, giving Ferrari an 11-point lead in the Constructors’ Championship.
