Ferrari’s consistent performances throughout 2024 enabled the team to contend for the constructors’ championship at the end of the season. The team has a 31-point deficit to the front-runners McLaren after the latter’s dominant pace. The crucial Abu Dhabi GP qualifying turned out to be a nightmare for the Prancing Horses as only Carlos Sainz entered Q3.
Charles Leclerc will have to start the race from P20 after facing a 10-place grid penalty and qualifying in P12 at Abu Dhabi. Carlos Sainz is in P3 right behind the two dominant McLarens as he heads into his final race as a Ferrari driver. Sainz is all set to join Williams right after the end of this season to make way for Lewis Hamilton in Maranello. Hence, the Yas Marina race is all that matters for the Spaniard.
Sainz gave it his all during the final qualifying of the 2024 season against McLaren. The 30-year-old highlighted that he pushed himself in the session like never before. Moreover, the Spaniard highlighted that the season finale would be his final chance to score a race win in his career. As a result, the Willims-bound driver claimed that he had ‘nothing to lose’ in his ultimate race with Ferrari.
Sainz: I'm going to give it anything, I was pushing in qualifying like never before, the same tomorrow as it might be my last chance of a win. Nothing to lose.

The 2024 season has been full of ups and downs for Sainz as he heads into his last race with the team. The Spaniard was ousted from the team despite impressive performances throughout his tenure with Ferrari. Charles Leclerc will also attempt his best to bid a great farewell to his teammate at Maranello before making way for Hamilton.
