Charles Leclerc has managed a decent fourth-place finish in the 2024 Chinese GP Sprint race. While he’s had a strong outing, he’s not at all pleased with what transpired between him and his teammate, Carlos Sainz during their wheel-to-wheel action.

During the closing stages of the race, Charles Leclerc was right on the heels of Carlos Sainz going into a certain Turn, and it was at that time that the latter became very aggressive while defending and pushed Leclerc out of the track.

However, soon after, the Monegasque driver was able to snatch fourth place away from Sainz. After the end of the race, Leclerc did not have very kind words for his teammate.

Looking at the strong reaction of the 26-year-old, it is quite clear that he is extremely angry with what Sainz did during their wheel-to-wheel battle. There are surely going to be quite a few off-track fireworks in Ferrari’s Sprint race debrief.

Charles Leclerc believes his teammate went ‘over the limit’ during Sprint race tussle

While Charles Leclerc has made his feelings known regarding his incident with Sainz in a strong fashion, he has also admitted that the latter was a bit over the limit. As mentioned earlier, the 29-year-old pushed the Monegasque too wide going into a certain turn.

The Shanghai circuit has so far produced exciting racing and Leclerc feels the Sprint race situation could arise again during tomorrow’s main Grand Prix.

And I have no worries that it will be the case again this weekend. Today, he went a bit over the limit in the contact between us two - being in a different situation because I saved the tyres quite a bit and had a good pace at the end.
Charles Leclerc said in his post Sprint race interview

During the ongoing campaign, Carlos Sainz has so far proved to be the superior driver at Ferrari. However, with Charles Leclerc managing to get the jump on Sainz during the Sprint race, things have been set up perfectly for the upcoming Chinese GP qualifying and also for tomorrow’s race. More on-track fireworks can be expected between the two Ferrari drivers going forward.
