Charles Leclerc is facing a disappointing 2025 season with Ferrari. Even though the Italian constructor raked in Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes this year, they are far from competitive. In the first 17 rounds, Leclerc has only achieved five podium finishes with no race victories to boast about. Now, as Maranello hopes to improve its performance in the coming seasons, the 27-year-old ponders how long he will continue racing for the team.

Charles Leclerc joined Ferrari back in 2019 and seemed strong in performances from the get-go. Although the 27-year-old achieved numerous coveted race wins since then, he never got a chance to be in a title contention. To make matters worse, the Scuderia has also made multiple blunders on track that have ruined Leclerc’s chance to shine during race day.

As such, Charles Leclerc broke the silence over his trust in Ferrari’s dream to return to their championship-winning ways in Formula 1. The Monegasque insisted that his love for the team kept him motivated to keep racing with them and give it his all. Leclerc explained that he always loved the team, and that was what pushed him to bring the Italian constructor to the top, no matter how long it took.

Because I love this team very much, I think that’s the answer, I’ve always loved Ferrari and that’s where I draw my motivation from, because I want to bring back Ferrari to the top, no matter how long it takes.

Charles Leclerc said, as reported by RacingNews365.

Speaking on his continuation at Ferrari, Charles Leclerc emphasized that he would do absolutely everything for the team to help them succeed. However, as soon as the 27-year-old stopped believing in the project, he might give up for good. Regardless, Leclerc reassured that he was fully involved in the dream to return Ferrari to its lost glory in the pinnacle of motorsport.

I’ll do absolutely everything until I stop believing in the project. But at the moment I’m fully into it, I’m fully working on it. That’s what motivates me.

Charles Leclerc labels Ferrari’s 2025 season as ‘underwhelming’

Ferrari is the only team out of the top four that has yet to taste victory in the 2025 season. The team also lost its P2 spot to Mercedes and is open to a threat of dwindling further below. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc is only P5 in the driver’s standings with a massive 159-point deficit to the championship leader. As such, Leclerc summarizes Maranello’s outing in the 2025 season with a simple word.

Charles Leclerc asserted that Ferrari’s current situation was underwhelming, especially when compared to the things the team wanted to achieve this year. However, Leclerc accepted the situation he was in and hoped to make the best out of it. Moreover, the Monegasque is a competitive driver, and going up against Lewis Hamilton gives him that extra push to perform better out of the two.

It’s underwhelming compared to where we wanted to be, but it’s the situation we’re in, and as a driver I’ve got to make the best out of this situation, not only for the team but also for myself. I’m very competitive as well, so the fact that we’ve got two cars is also something that pushes me to keep being at the top of my game, and to keep improving.

Charles Leclerc noted.

The 2025 season only has seven races to go until completion. Ferrari is definitely out of the contention for the constructors’ championship. For now, Charles Leclerc will have to salvage whatever is left of the season and end it on the best possible note. Time will tell about how the Italian squad manages to bounce back from their desperate woes this year.
