Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was only able to manage a fifth-place finish at the 2024 Singapore GP. Starting the event from P9, Leclerc did a good job of getting himself up the grid around the difficult-to-overtake Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Carlos Sainz on his end managed a seventh-place finish. Keeping in view the overall outing, Charles Leclerc feels that Ferrari’s poor qualifying outing led to the team’s downfall against rivals at the event.

P5. Perfect execution for today’s race, we, unfortunately, paid the price of a poor qualifying yesterday. But today was a good race with some nice overtakesssss.

The prolific Monegasque driver has sounded extremely pleased with his outing during the main race. However, he does believe that a bit was left on the table because of the extremely poor qualifying outing. Leclerc could have started the race in the top 4, but his final push lap in Q3 was deleted for track limits.

Carlos Sainz leaves Singapore with a ‘sour-taste’

While Charles Leclerc is pleased with his outing in the 62-lap Singapore GP, Carlos Sainz, on the other hand, is leaving Marina Bay with a ‘sour taste’ in his mouth. The Spaniard crashed in the Q3 session of qualifying, which forced him to start the race from P10.

This is one of the main reasons why the 30-year-old is a bit disappointed.

Challenging race. We took a risk with the early stop and gained some positions with good pace and overtakes. Sour taste though. Time to reset and come back stronger.

The Ferrari Formula 1 team is fighting for the 2024 Constructors Championship. As things stand, the outfit has managed to amass 441 points in comparison to Red Bulls’ 475 and McLaren’s 516.

They have an uphill battle ahead of them but keeping in view the strong results they have produced this year, anything is possible. Moreover, the ongoing three-week break should immensely help the team in extracting more performance from the SF-24.
