Lewis Hamilton remained one of the most underwhelming drivers in the 2025 season following his failed debut with Ferrari. Hamilton couldn’t even beat his teammate, Charles Leclerc, and folded under pressure. Now, following a disastrous campaign this year, Leclerc reckons that the new regulations might treat the seven-time champion better.
Charles Leclerc was neutral on Lewis Hamilton‘s struggle at Ferrari and did not comment too negatively on it. The Monegasque has already revealed the team’s preparedness for the new regulations and hopes to emerge as a dominant force by then. Leclerc truly believes that even Hamilton would turn his career at Maranello around and start scoring much better results in the 2026 season.
Despite the massive problems faced by Lewis Hamilton, he did not lose hope and gave it his all up until the very last race. Though the Briton labeled his debut with Ferrari as a nightmare, he was ready to show up on race day and gain multiple track positions. As such, Charles Leclerc pointed out that Hamilton was always extremely motivated and did not lose it mid-way through the 2025 season.
Further, Charles Leclerc accepted that the 2025 season had been tough for Lewis Hamilton and himself. But, even Ferrari struggled to bring home good results and couldn’t even achieve a race win to their name in the final year of the ground effect era. Ultimately, Leclerc is confident that the Italian squad will be back next year with a much better form and compete for race wins from the beginning of the season.
I think Lewis has always been extremely motivated, It’s been a tough end of the season for Lewis, but [also] for the team in general. The car has been tougher and tougher to drive. But I’m sure we’ll all be back next year.
Charles Leclerc said, as reported by RacingNews365.
Charles Leclerc labels 2025 season with Ferrari ‘most disappointing’
Certainly, Charles Leclerc did not have a picture-perfect season with Ferrari either in the 2025 season. Though the Monegasque fared better than Lewis Hamilton, achieving a handful of podium finishes, he was nowhere near the championship-fighting pack. Leclerc labeled the entire year with a shocking title and claimed that he was glad to put it all behind him and look forward to the upcoming season.

Charles Leclerc accepted that the 2025 season was very tough for him. Though he refused to label it the toughest, as he has definitely faced many struggles in his long career with Ferrari. Thankfully, the 28-year-old tends to forget negative emotions quickly and move on from the plight. Further, Leclerc reckoned that it might not be the worst season for him, but it was definitely the most disappointing one.
It’s tough – whether it’s the toughest or not, I don’t know. I tend to forget those negative emotions as quickly as possible. I don’t know if it’s the worst one, but for sure it’s the most disappointing one.
Charles Leclerc noted.
Ferrari will have to work extremely hard on their pace and ensure that both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton receive much better opportunities in the 2025 season. Both drivers are extremely capable and can do wonders if provided with the right challenger. For now, Leclerc will enjoy the off-season break with a special trip, and Hamilton will unplug from the matrix to fully focus on himself and rediscover his lost form.
