Red Bull had started the 2024 season off in great form. However, the RB20 started struggling over the kerbs and bumps and quickly caused Max Verstappen to lose multiple races. Regardless, the Dutchman showcased great resilience and continued scoring great results. Hence, as the sport heads over to the first triple-header of the season, Charles Leclerc reckons the Milton-Keynes-based outfit will have a great time at the Spanish GP.

Max Verstappen had been vocal regarding the issues in his RB20 despite the crew ignoring his previous feedback. Additionally, the Spanish GP was the first-ever race Verstappen won back in 2016. As a result, the 26-year-old will be pushing extra hard to continue this legacy. Charles Leclerc noted that Red Bull will be strong over the Spanish weekend. The reason is that Red Bull was usually strong at the Barcelonan circuit in F1.

My personal opinion is that we will see Red Bull strong this weekend, more like the beginning of the season. They usually go very fast here in Barcelona. We also believe that the last four races, from Miami to Canada, pianos were very important and that is not one of their strengths.
Charles Leclerc said, as reported by soymotor.com.

Regardless, Leclerc believes that Red Bull will once again be really good over the entire weekend. Additionally, the 26-year-old pointed out that Ferrari had implemented multiple upgrades. These upgrades could help the team further close the performance gap on Verstappen and Co. at the Spanish GP.

But I feel like we'll see you go back to a really good level this weekend, though we have new parts in the car, so hopefully that will help us to be close.

Charles Leclerc claims ‘being in the fight’ in Barcelona will be a good sign for Ferrari

Ferrari has placed themselves in the runner-up spot due to their great consistent performance this season. However, the double DNF in Canada has taken a massive toll on their position in the championship. Hence, the team will have to work extra hard to continue the lead over McLaren and at the same time close in on Red Bull.

Ferrari’s SF-24 has not been causing any problems for the drivers in the season. Leclerc mentioned that the Spanish weekend would be ‘interesting’ for the Italian constructor. As a result, if Maranello continues to stay in the fight over the Spanish GP, it would be a great sign of competitiveness down this season.

It's going to be an interesting weekend, so if we can be in the fight here it will be a good sign for the rest of the year.
Charles Leclerc mentioned.

Ferrari has scored two race wins already against Red Bull’s dominant campaign. Hence, this would provide the team with crucial information for chassis development during the final season of the ground-effect era. Apart from this, the team has already started working on the power unit under the new set of regulations in 2026.
