Charles Leclerc failed to deliver for the third week in a row during the Sprint race in Spielberg, in which he finished P7. Leclerc started P10 after facing power issues with the SF-24 during SQ3 on Friday.

Ferrari has shown signs of promise, scoring 270 points after ten races this campaign. But the Maranello-based outfit has not been up to par with its high standards since its win in Monaco, which has led to concerns within the team.

Charles Leclerc has hence said that the situation within the team has to be worked upon rigorously to get back on track for the championship. Leclerc was able to overtake a few cars to finish three positions above where he started but was highly frustrated after the Sprint result.

The first lap was positive, it was more complicated afterwards because I had to manage the temperature of the brakes. The real problem is performance, we are in difficulty. Qualifying? I'm not going to lie, for At the moment there is no miracle solution.
Charles Leclerc said after the sprint race in Spielberg

Leclerc claimed he had a good start during the sprint race but had to inhibit his capability later on in order to manage the temperature of the overheating brakes around the Red Bull Ring. The result now lands Ferrari in a position of desperation to perform better in the main race on Sunday if they wish to again reignite their title hopes.

Carlos Sainz reflects on Ferrari’s performance after P5 in Austria Sprint

Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz finished the Austrian Grand Prix sprint race on a more positive note as compared to his teammate, Charles Leclerc. However, the Spaniard was unable to improve on his starting position during the sprint and finished P5.

We had a good start and got the DRS of Piastri, and then I had brake issues and had to lift and coast causing me to loose the DRS to Piastri and then George got me. We will change the car a bit now to make some improvements.
Carlos Sainz said after the Sprint race in Spielberg

Carlos Sainz made an impressive jump on Mercedes’s George Russell during the start of the race but was unable to hold on to the position due to some unavoidable braking issues with the SF-24. The Spaniard was thus forced to lose the advantage of having the DRS behind Oscar Piastri, which offered George Russell a chance to win his position back.

The 29-year-old driver faced similar issues with braking as his teammate Leclerc, which was a major hindrance to the race pace of the two Ferrari drivers. Sainz therefore concluded that the Maranello-based outfit will seek to make some changes to the car for qualifying in hopes of a better finish towards the end of the ongoing race weekend.
