Lewis Hamilton has been enduring some poor performance in qualifying and races because of persistent problems with W15. The Briton will be moving to Ferrari next year which is raising the question of his performance.
Despite this, he managed to pull off a great performance in Mexico finishing fourth behind future teammate Charles Leclerc. Teammates in F1 sometimes face conflicts due to intense competition, race tactics, and on-track controversies. However, Leclerc insists he won’t have any issues with Lewis Hamilton next year.
Hamilton is leaving the team he’s driven for the past 11 years, which means he’ll need to adapt to Ferrari’s environment, a change that Charles Leclerc believes will take some time. He feels there’s no need to give advice to the seven-time world champion about that. Moreover, Leclerc is excited about the opportunity to work with Hamilton and push Ferrari to a competitive edge together.
Leclerc’s 2025 season at Ferrari is set to be a unique learning experience due to Ferrari-bound Hamilton. However, this pairing also presents an exciting challenge for the 27-year-old. As he learns from one of the greatest drivers in F1 history, he will have the opportunity to showcase his abilities and push Hamilton to new limits.
The Monegasque is eager to demonstrate what he’s capable of, learning from the Brit’s experience would add a cherry on the cake. Team principal Fred Vasseur stated earlier that more than him Leclerc was happy to partner up with the Briton, which pushed Vasseur to sign him.
Charles Leclerc believes it will be ‘healthy competition’ with Lewis Hamilton
No matter how much drivers claim they won’t have problems as teammates, F1 is a fierce battleground for everyone. Each driver fights for themselves, and Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are no different.
The 27-year-old emphasized that he will give his best effort to beat Hamilton next year, raising the stakes in their rivalry. However, he believes the competition will remain healthy and constructive, reflecting their strong bond off the track.
The 2024 season remains with only four races until the seven-time-world champion leaves the Silver Arrows and joins Ferrari. Hamilton has won two grand prix races this year, breaking his 945-day winless streak. The Briton hopes to secure another victory before moving to Maranello, as he wants to end his time with Mercedes on a good note.
