The recent Emilia-Romagna GP qualifying session was an intense affair! Max Verstappen managed to get the jump on McLaren’s Oscar Piastri (will start from P5 after a 3-place grid penalty) by the finest of margins whereas Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc put on board a final Q3 lap good enough for P4 (promoted to P3).

This came as a bit of a shock to the fans as well as to Charles Leclerc himself as he was the one dominating the track during Friday’s running. The Monegasque topped FP1 and FP2 by a comfortable margin over his rivals.

However, while Leclerc will start the upcoming 63-lap race from the second row, he has admitted that he is eyeing a Grand Prix win.

The car is definitely good in terms of race pace, however, this is one the most difficult tracks to overtake and also I don‘t quite understand why the DRS is shorter this year, which is going to make overtakes a bit more difficult. But strategy is still there, pace is there, so my target is still the win. Then if we come short of this, it‘s life, we have tried at least!

Looking at the reaction of the Ferrari driver, it is quite clear that he will do everything in his power to secure the victory in the Emilia-Romagna GP. The SF-24 has been working well around the Enzo E Dino Ferrari racing circuit and really could give Leclerc a chance to fight for the win!

Carlos Sainz also willing to ‘fight right to the chequered flag’ in Imola

While Charles Leclerc has made up his mind to go gun-ho during the upcoming 63-lap Emilia-Romagna GP, the same is the case with his teammate, Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard will start the race from just a place behind Leclerc and is also willing to give his 100 percent.

The 29-year-old is slated to kick off the race from fourth place!

We’ll fight right to the chequered flag to put on a great show for our Tifosi and hopefully thank them for their support with a good team result.

As things stand, Leclerc has so far managed to amass 98 points in the 2024 F1 world championship. Sainz, on the other hand, is not too far behind with 83 points to his name.

The latter has scored a Grand Prix win as well and considering this, Leclerc will especially be itching to get Ferrari a win from his end. Things could turn out chaotic for the top four drivers going into Turn 1 after the start of the Emilia-Romagna GP!
