Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has shut down rumors of a future move for Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. The 30-year-old Spaniard is set to join Williams Racing in 2025 after spending four seasons with the Maranello-based team.
Carlos Sainz‘s departure was announced from Ferrari earlier this season, which made several teams pursue him as a driver. Sainz was rumored to be linked with a move to Mercedes as well as Red Bull. However, all speculations ended when the four-time race winner signed for the Grove-based team.
Rumors have since been going around that the Milton-Keynes-based team still wants to sign the Spaniard in the future. However, Christian Horner has set the record clean by stating that Sainz is not a part of his team’s plans.
Sainz? No, Carlos is committed to Williams and is not part of our plans in 2025.
Christian Horner told TalkSport
Sainz has been massive for the Maranello-based team, securing two wins and seven podiums so far. He now seeks to keep up his good form to deliver good performances to bid farewell to the Reds on a high.
Carlos Sainz bemoans wet weather struggles of Ferrari post Mexican GP
Ferrari was unable to perform at the Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend, succumbing to a disappointing DNF for Carlos Sainz as well. The Williams-bound driver has thereafter debriefed on the team’s run at Interlagos.

Yeah, unfortunately this year, you know, I’ve always been a very strong driver in the wet. But for some reason, ever since I tried this car in the wet this year, I’ve never had a good feeling with it. I don’t know if we just don’t put energy into the tyres. We run it too stiff in medium to high speed or what is it. It’s clear that it’s very unpredictable and very difficult to drive.
Carlos Sainz told the media including motorsportweek
Sainz has cited the unpredictability of the SF-24 in wet weather conditions this season. He has stated that the car has not functioned properly regardless of high or medium speed regions around wet conditions this year.
The Maranello-based team is currently second in the constructors’ championship, trailing McLaren by only 37 points. With only three races to go, the Reds will put their heart and soul into resolving issues of the SF-24 ahead of the Las Vegas GP.
