It was a positive day for us today and we saw three great laps put in from Max. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing run for Checo, especially after getting boxed in by Esteban, as there was no chance for him to get a representative lap.

Before the third sprint qualifying session, Horner and team expected Checo to be in top five, which was disappointing. Despite this setback the track was favourable for overtaking, featuring several long straights l. Horner noted that, hot weather the next day would present challenges for all the cars on the grid.

Going into SQ3 we thought he would be top five, which is a shame. However, this track is good for overtaking with a few good long straights. It’s going to be very hot tomorrow so that should throw up some challenges for all the cars on the grid.
