The three-time world champion Max Verstappen was involved in an argument over his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase. The argument took place over a collision with Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton at lap 63 of the Hungaroring. Race engineer GP held Verstappen responsible for the collision, which he didn’t like as he reckoned that their strategy was poor. Christian Horner confirmed to handle the situation within themselves.
Team principal Christian Horner stated that everyone knows they need to improve performance and are actively working on it. Max Verstappen had been too harsh to defend his team, where Horner mentioned that talks and discussion regarding that will be done privately. He stated they’ll solve the matter behind closed-doors away from the public eye. The 50-year-old wanted to reassure the team that they are focused on finding solutions and improving their performance.
Everybody sees that we need to find more performance, and everybody's working hard to do that. We'll have whatever discussions behind closed doors.Christian Horner said, as reported by RacingNews365
Christian Horner clarified that when Gianpiero Lambiase said ‘childish’ behavior on radio it didn’t refer to Verstappen. He mentioned that GP was referring to the Mercedes team on the radio who was complaining about the penalty. Horner defended race engineer Lambiase because Verstappen believed GP’s ‘childish’ remark was directed at him due to the crash.
At that point GP wasn't referring to Max, he was referring to others [Mercedes] on the radio complaining about a penalty.Christian Horner stated

He pointed out that they and Verstappen have been working together since eight years and are familiar with these tactica and how to handle them. The 51-year-old stated that teams use every opportunity to influence race decisions, and this has been a common practice for a long time.
Others are obviously goading for penalties, because the stewards are listening to the radio as well. Look, they've been together for eight years.Christian Horner expressed

He admitted that mistakes were made by everyone but highlighted that these issues will be discussed and addressed internally. Horner stated that the team will have a meeting to review what went wrong and figure out the improvements for the next races.
Yeah, there are things that we could have done better in the race, but it's something we'll talk about as a team.Christian Horner added
