The 2024 Spanish Grand Prix was an extremely exciting affair. Red Bull and McLaren were in the fight for victory until the last moment, and with the former coming out on top, Christian Horner feels it was because of his team’s ability to not give in during tense moments.
Since the last few races, Red Bull has found it extremely tough to stay at the front. However, despite this, the outfit has been able to churn out results courtesy of Max Verstappen.
Seeing how much of a gap the rival teams have closed up to Red Bull and how challenging it has been for the Austrian outfit, Christian Horner has come up with a strong remark!
McLaren is doing a great job, Ferrari is not far away, Mercedes is improving, but we continue to stay ahead. We have won a lot, but we have not lost the ability to get results in the most important moments and to do everything well on race day: we have enormous strength in depth in the team and great stability.Christian Horner via SkySports
Looking at the reaction of the Brit, it is quite clear that he is extremely proud of the job his team has done over the last few races. Moreover, he has emphasized the stability within the team as one of the reasons why Red Bull is managing to stay at the front of the chasing pack.
Christian Horner is in awe of Max Verstappen’s ‘determination’
While Horner has applauded his team as a whole for the recent hard-fought results, he has also taken the time to shower praise on his most prized possession. All of the good work that Red Bull does behind the scenes is brought into the spotlight by the efforts of Verstappen.
In the last four races, Sergio Perez has managed only eight points whereas Verstappen, on the other hand, amassed 83.
Max is so determined, he never jokes. I think that's one of the main qualities about him: you know that if he has an opportunity he will go and take it. And the other riders know it too.Christian Horner said in the same interview
The ongoing campaign is 10 rounds down with 14 events still remaining on the calendar. This week, on the F1 schedule, is Red Bull’s home race, the Austrian GP. Keeping this in view, the outfit would ideally want to cap off the three-day event with a 1-2 finish. However, this is easier said than done considering the form of rival outfits and also that of Sergio Perez. At the Red Bull ring, several eyes will be glued on Max Verstappen’s RB20.
