Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has conveyed his disappointment regarding Sergio Perez after his poor run in the Hungarian GP qualifying. The latter crashed out in Q1 during a push lap and thus, starts from P16 in Sunday’s race.
Sergio Perez has been a weak link for the Milton-Keynes outfit this campaign. The Mexican driver has amassed a mere 11 points in the past five races while getting eliminated three times in Q1.
Despite the setbacks, Christian Horner entrusted Perez with the capability of bouncing back to the top spots in Budapest. However, an early retirement after crashing into the barriers left Horner extremely dejected.

The Milton-Keynes outfit leads the championship but has faced major losses in points due to the continuous underperformance of Perez. The upcoming 70-lap race will now play a major role in defining the fate of the Mexican’s future with the team next season.

A mixed bag in qualifying today. It was very close, the McLaren’s were very quick, so congratulations to them for their one/two. Max did very well and is a good position for tomorrow.Christian Horner said after qualifying in Budapest

Horner has claimed the qualifying run as a mixed one for the Milton-Keynes outfit, with Max Verstappen starting in P3 and Sergio Perez in P16. The 50-year-old said that Verstappen has a good chance to perform starting alongside the two McLarens.
The Woking-based outfit, despite being one of the stronger teams, has been able to win only once this campaign. Keeping this in view, Norris and Co. will fancy their chances of winning the Hungarian GP starting from the top slots.
