Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has stood behind Sergio Perez amidst rumors of the latter’s replacement. Perez signed a contract extension with the team this season but has been unable to deliver worthy performances thereafter.
Sergio Perez joined the Milton-Keynes outfit at the start of 2021, delivering crucial performances during the course of the season. But the Mexican’s fluctuating form has been a persistent affair for the team since the previous year.
Christian Horner however, has spoken in favor of Perez’s future with the team after the Belgian Grand Prix. The 34-year-old failed yet again to capitalize on a lively opportunity, starting the race P2 at Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday.

Horner has been a constant supporter to Sergio Perez through his rough spells in Formula One. The Milton-Keynes outfit will now discuss the 34-year-old’s future during the ongoing summer break ahead of the Dutch GP.
Max Verstappen says one stop strategy would not have been feasible for Red Bull at Spa
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen finished P4 at the Belgian Grand Prix after a competitive 44-lap race. Verstappen started from P11 due to a grid penalty for taking a fifth engine.
One-stopper not possible for us. I don't think we had the tire wear or the tire life to do that.Max Verstappen via Motorsport-total
Max Verstappen claimed that a one pit stop strategy would not have been feasible for the team on Sunday. Verstappen complained of grip and tire degradation throughout the race at Spa but was pleased with his efforts later-on.
Keeping in view everything that has gone on at Red Bull in the first half of the 2024 season, its going to be fascinating to see how they will deal with the Perez situation. As things stand, it is just not possible for Verstappen to bring the Constructors Championship home single-handedly.
