Max Verstappen was met with extremely hostile and disrespectful behavior at the F1 75 event at the London O2 Arena. The Dutchman alongside Red Bull boss Christian Horner was booed allegedly due to the team’s controversial situations in the previous season. Ex-F1 driver Christijan Albers has shared his verdict on the controversy and held the FIA responsible for the ‘mess’.

Jos Verstappen had clarified that Max Verstappen wished not to attend the events in England anymore if such was the reaction from the crowd. Even the FIA was booed during the F1 75 event during a special segment. Christijan Albers believed that the governing body had it coming but raised concerns over Verstappen’s disrespect.

Christian Horner and Red Bull were the center of multiple controversies in the 2024 season, especially the team principal’s alleged inappropriate conduct saga. Christijan Albers pointed out that even Horner was uncomfortable during the segment when he was being booed. The Dutchman further questioned if the disrespect was towards the team principal or the team as a whole.

I wonder if it was for the team or for the one gentleman? He was surprised too. You could see he was getting uncomfortable.

Christijan Albers noted.

The 2025 season is set to be even more exciting than the previous seasons due to multiple teams and drivers looking promising of championship contention. The FIA must ensure better conditions for the drivers during such events. The governing body has already faced a lot of backlashe over the disappointing situation at the F1 75 event.
