Formula 1 commentator Alex Jacques has shared his thoughts on Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo‘s sudden exit this season. Visa Cash App RB announced after the Singapore GP that they would be parting ways with Ricciardo following the Australian’s poor run of form.

Daniel Ricciardo made a return to the grid, signing for AlphaTauri (RB) midway through the previous season. Many expected the 35-year-old to be up and running for the Red Bull sister team after his joining. He, however, failed to deliver upon expectations, which led RB to terminate his contract.

Alex Jacques has cited the possibility of Ricciardo racing in NASCAR in the near future. The eight-time Grand Prix winner is a massive fan of the American motorsports organization, which makes it a probable prospect for him.

I suspect he’s not going to be able to resist a little bit of NASCAR. He’s a massive NASCAR fan. They race at Watkins Glen, they race on the streets of Chicago. I think that’s got Danny Ric’s name all over it.

Ricciardo’s departure was an emotional one for his fans as well as the entire motorsport community. They will therefore expect a return for the Honey Badger on the track regardless of any racing format.

Guenther Steiner claims Daniel Ricciardo was not in a good state after leaving McLaren

Former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner claims that Daniel Ricciardo joined AlphaTauri (RB) at an incorrect time last year. Ricciardo failed to achieve his dream of returning to the Red Bull cockpit after getting sacked this season.

When he left McLaren, he was not in a good state. You could see he wasn’t the real Danny. He wasn’t himself. Maybe he came back too early, expecting he can come back like Fernando Alonso did, like Kevin Magnussen did, like Nico Hulkenberg did and it’ll all work out, but it didn’t.

Guenther Steiner claims that Ricciardo was not in a good state after leaving McLaren at the end of 2022. Steiner feels the Australian might have expected to make a comeback like the others but rushed in his efforts to do so.

Ricciardo secured only 18 points in over a year and a half for RB despite showcasing his best attempts. He now has no option but to wait for a third opportunity, which appears as a distant possibility as things stand.
