The UK has been under the fire of riots for the past weekends. The Southport riot saw a massive violation of human rights across the town. With the town’s name trending on Elon Musk-owned X, Damon Hill doubled down on the social media platform as he claimed such instances to be proof of how absolute freedom has led to multiple atrocities across the nation.

Britain is facing its biggest riot since the 2011 riots. However, the public disturbance is understood to have originated from multiple groups sharing anti-immigrant and racist sentiments on social media. Later, this protest turned into a riot as the protesters soon took violent action to convey their message trundling waves across the nation.

On the other hand, Elon Musk recently commented on a video of rioters shooting fireworks at the police and stated “civil war is inevitable”. This statement further enraged the flames which was lamented by Damon Hill.

I'm beginning to think the problem is Twitter/X.

The former world champion replied to a fan’s tweet, who asked how the platform was responsible for such outrages.

That's partly true, but also we are not bound by any safeguarding such as a 'fake news agency' might have. The price of total freedom is anarchy. You can quote me on that. Its my own aphorism.

The Brit claimed that anarchy is not always good, as the Southport riots showcased. Moreover, he affirmed that total freedom is harmful to any platform, and X’s lenient restrictions are to be blamed for such beliefs being disseminated throughout the nation.

Damon Hill gives his verdict on Sergio Perez’s dire situation at Red Bull

On the other hand, in the F1 sphere, driver troubles have created chaos at Red Bull. While Max Verstappen has helped the team score seven wins in the 14 races so far this season. His teammate Sergio Perez has been trundling along the rear of the grid, potentially helping the Austrian giant’s rivals to leapfrog them in the championship.

This peculiar situation was glanced over by the former champion, who reckoned that the Mexican might need to hurry up.

There have been experiences in the past where they’ve made a declaration - whoever it was, Gasly or Albon - then suddenly that all changed quickly. Things do happen. Maybe they might bite the bullet and say ‘we’re going to lose the constructors’ championship, what is that worth to us in millions of dollars?’ If we front up some million of dollars to go somewhere else then it’s worth it in the long run.
Damon Hill said on the F1 Nation podcast

Hill ruminated about Red Bull’s lack of patience with earlier drivers. However, he speculated that keeping the 34-year-old for longer in the team might spell disaster in Milton Keynes, which would cause them to lose the elusive constructor’s title.

Despite Hill’s concerns, Red Bull does not seem too hasty about the decision. Thus, McLaren is in the prime position to overturn its 42-point deficit in the next few weekends and win its first title in decades.
