Sergio Perez has been going through a rough patch since the start of the 2024 season. His subpar results have led to much speculation regarding the integrity of his contract with Red Bull as the team finds itself in the midst of an intense championship battle. Despite such external factors, the Mexican is understood to be continuing his stay at Milton Keynes which would result in Daniel Ricciardo continuing his adventure with RB.
Daniel Ricciardo joined the F1 grid back last year after McLaren sacked him for Oscar Piastri. However, his return was accompanied by his long-lasting inconsistencies which were deemed to be the reason for his non-consideration at Red Bull.
On the contrary, as Sergio Perez started to slump towards the rear of the pack, his candidature started to seem likely for a possible reunion at Milton Keynes. However, this dream lasted short as according to Motorsport, the Aussie would likely continue his stay at RB.
The Red Bull supremo recently affirmed that the Mexican would stay with the Austrian giant for longer. This asserts that Ricciardo would have to wait till the commencement of the next season as the Red Bull squad puts firm faith in the incumbent driver.
RB explained how Daniel Ricciardo’s expertise has been beneficial for them
Though Ricciardo was left out by Red Bull for another day, RB is a midfield team that could earn huge benefits from his experience. Moreover, the Italian team has often commended the former race winner for his detailed feedback.
Subsequently, RB CEO Peter Bayer joined in to applaud the Australian in assisting the team’s progress.
Looking back last year when he joined the team, he brought a whole new energy and spirit into the team, and he has been extremely helpful in supporting Yuki[Tsunoda]. Yuki has just stated very recently that he still keeps learning from Daniel[Ricciardo].Peter Bayer said in an interview with Motorsport
The Austrian looked back to when the 34-year-old had joined the team. He explained that the Aussie brought an energetic environment into the team. Moreover, his synergy with Yuki Tsunoda has helped the Japanese driver to grow a lot and become more mature.
Despite Ricciardo may be appealing for the Faenza-based team to retain for longer, the former race winner would likely want a return to a top team. Thus, he would like to impress Horner & Co. in the upcoming races to make a statement and show his worth to the grid.
