Daniel Ricciardo, the eight-time Grand Prix winner, has not had the best of times this year. He has been downright outclassed by VCARB teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, but despite this fact, it has come to light that his job is safe for 2025.

Since the infamous inappropriate behavior allegations against Red Bull boss Christian Horner, an internal tussle has been taking place within the team. Moreover, it has been reported that the team adviser, Helmut Marko has lost power and now, most of it resides with Horner.

The sole beneficiary amongst all of this is being seen as Daniel Ricciardo.

Motorsport adviser Helmut Marko, who would probably like to promote Lawson, has lost power and influence in the internal civil war at Red Bull that was laid bare by the allegations of sexual harassment and coercive, controlling behavior made against Horner by a female employee, which Horner denies, and which an internal investigation dismissed.

Red Bull junior, Liam Lawson has been on the radar of Marko and co. for a drive with RB in 2025. He produced promising performances in the absence of Ricciardo last year, but with Horner reportedly not willing to let the latter go, Lawson might be forced into sitting out another year.

Daniel Ricciardo ‘frustrated’ with his lackluster F1 outings

Ahead of the 2024 F1 season, Ricciardo was very upbeat about viewing his RB stint as a launching pad toward Red Bull. However, only after eight races this year, he has found himself way off the pace of his younger teammate.

After the Monaco Grand Prix, Ricciardo admitted that he was frustrated with his performances.

I want to be doing better consistently. So I just, I'm not happy with having these gaps. I think that's what's frustrating me a bit. Obviously, the team has been great.
Daniel Ricciardo said in an interview with racingnews365

RB has so far managed to amass 24 points in the Constructors Championship. Yuki Tsunoda has chipped in with 19 whereas Ricciardo has only been able to muster up five. From Canada onward, the latter has to perform if he has to make sure he is on the 2025 grid. However, if his woeful form continues, then even Horner’s backing might not be able to save him, keeping in view the high-pressure nature of F1.
