The eight-time Grand Prix winner, Daniel Ricciardo is fully focused on giving his all in the remaining races before the summer break. Sergio Perez‘s most recent qualifying crash has put immense pressure on him and amidst this, Ricciardo has admitted that he is looking to give it full beans in the upcoming events.
Sergio Perez crashed in the Q1 session of yesterday’s Budapest qualifying while Daniel Ricciardo charged his way to finish in P9 (in an RB). The former is increasingly under threat of getting sacked especially after Helmut Marko openly bashed him for his disappointing quali outing.

A decision regarding Perez’s future is slated to be made after the race in Belgium. Considering this, Ricciardo has seen a potential opportunity to replace him at Red Bull.
I’ve told myself if I can do it, go fast. You’ve got two races to give it hell. These two races could be two of the most important. Of my, not only season, but potentially career.Daniel Ricciardo via Pitdebrief
Sergio Perez quite recently signed a two-year contract extension at Red Bull. While his future is secured on paper, it can be torn apart at any moment given the history of the Milton-Keynes-based team. There is a very real possibility Perez could get sacked during the 2024 summer break and this would give Red Bull the chance to potentially slot in Ricciardo.
Daniel Ricciardo pleased with ‘smooth’ Hungarian GP weekend
While Ricciardo has his eyes set on performing to the best of his ability in the upcoming race and in Spa, he feels the ongoing race weekend has proved quite smooth. The VCARB01 has proved quite rapid around the 4.3 km Hungaroring.

The 35-year-old managed a decent time of 1:16:447 during his final Q3 run!
I think a decent outcome. I definitely feel like we would have had something for the Astons without the rain in Q3. I don’t know if we would have got Fernando or what, but I definitely think we would have been in the fight. It’s been a smooth weekend. It’s been good. We’ve been quick.Daniel Ricciardo said in the same interview
Ricciardo has so far managed to amass 11 points in the 2024 Driver’s Championship. His teammate, Yuki Tsunoda has managed 20 and he is also one of the potential candidates in the running to replace Sergio Perez.
The tussle for the coveted Red Bull seat is well and truly on, and considering this, the Honey Badger would be eyeing a solid outing in the upcoming 70-lap race. Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 future could be decided by the Hungarian GP and next week’s race around the famous Circuit De-Spa Francorchamps.
