Former British F1 driver David Coulthard has backed Red Bull to bounce back in light of poor performances this season. The Christian Horner-led team has not won any of the last six races, having stood on the top step way back in June.
Red Bull started the 2024 season in a convincing manner as they rose to the top of the standing with seven wins in the first 10 races. Since then, the reigning champions have looked powerless, which has helped the lights of McLaren and Ferrari to reduce the gap in the constructors’ championship.

David Coulthard has, however, vested his faith in the capabilities of his former team. He claims that the RB20 still has the potential to dominate with proper fixes and iterations in its overall engineering.
But we are still talking about a team that has won seven races this season, more than twice as many as any other racing team. What happens next in the championship is in the hands of the same engineers who built this winning car. They just have to succeed in reawakening the potential that is now dormant.David Coulthard spoke on Channel 4
The Milton-Keynes outfit, despite their struggles, still holds a 62-point lead in the drivers’ championship (courtesy of Max Verstappen). The upcoming race in Baku has always been a favored destination for the team and thus, they will try to reclaim the top spots this weekend.
Helmut Marko pinpoints reason behind Red Bull’s struggles in 2024
Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has shared his thoughts on the team’s declining form this season. The Milton-Keynes-based outfit holds merely an eight-point lead over McLaren in the constructors’ championship.

But ultimately it’s not directly related to our technical problems, but to the departure of important people. If certain employees want a change and receive a good offer or see a new opportunity, then they take it.Helmut Marko told OE24
Helmut Marko claims that the problems are not singularly concentrated around the technical aspects of the team. The 81-year-old then went on to assert that the departure of credible individuals led to the instability within the team.
Notable names such as Jonathan Wheatley and Adrian Newey bid farewell to Red Bull’s operations in the recent past. Nevertheless, the team has no option but to make the best effort in picking up the pieces to salvage their chances going forward.
