Red Bull’s mass exodus continued as Adrian Newey exited in the 2025 season. Moreover, the aero-genius shocked the entire paddock by joining Aston Martin on a multi-year contract from the coming season onwards. Over this, the Ex-Red Bull driver David Coulthard showcased his dissatisfaction and labeled it ‘uncomfortable’.

David Coulthard claimed that Newey’s move from Red Bull to Aston Martin made him feel ‘uncomfortable’. Regardless, the Silverstone-based constructor showcased great opportunities for the 65-year-old. As a result, Coulthard accepted that the Briton would be feeling quite successful professionally after being considered for some of the best teams on the grid.

Although it was uncomfortable for me to observe the leaving of Red Bull and the joining of Aston with Adrian, the way that you explained on the podcast, the transition, the announcements of when he would be joining the team, and all of those sorts of things, professionally, you must be feeling pretty successful.

Adrian Newey played a pivotal role in Red Bull’s success since the early days in Formula 1. The team garnered monumental success under the technical wizard. Now, the 65-year-old will take all the knowledge to Aston Martin and help the team rise to success in the coming years. Milton Keynes, on the other hand, will have the mountainous task of recovering from the massive personnel loss this season.

Eddie Jordan labeled Adrian Newey’s exit deal with Red Bull as ‘one of the greatest’

Adrian Newey’s deal with Red Bull was supposed to last until the end of the 2025 season despite Newey leaving the team ahead of schedule. Newey’s manager Eddie Jordan recalled that the deal with Milton Keynes to leave the team and join Aston Martin was ‘finest’ and of the ‘best caliber’. Moreover, the Irishman believed he facilitated one of the greatest deals in his life.

I really believe the negotiations I had with Red Bull were the finest and the best caliber, it was probably one of the greatest deals I’ve ever done in my life, not financially, but mentally.

Red Bull’s performance in the 2024 season was mediocre at best despite Max Verstappen achieving his fourth consecutive championship win. The team’s performance in the upcoming season will take a hit following Newey’s departure. As a result, Milton Keynes will have to work extremely hard on their form to get off to a better start next season.
