Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is widely regarded as a man of many interests. Driving for the Silver Arrows in F1 doesn’t incline the 39-year-old to purchase vehicles built only by the German carmaker. This is evident from his widespread car collection apart from cars built by the German manufacturer.
Even Hamilton has been wooed by the beauty of the iconic cars built by Italian manufacturer Ferrari. Despite a long-time on-track rivalry with Ferrari, the seven-time world champion owns a total of three Ferrari cars in his long list of cars. These cars include the Ferrari LaFerrari, kitted with the iconic ‘Rosso Corsa’ red shade. The Briton also owns the Aperta version of the LaFerrari series.
The LaFerrari Aperta is remarkably the convertible version of the original LaFerrari. The Aperta version is also fit with a hybrid engine. Additionally, this car has been rumored to set back Hamilton by an astounding £2.2 million in order to secure the Aperta version.
Lewis Hamilton also owns a rare Ferrari 599 SA Aperta. Notably, only 80 versions of this car were ever built, celebrating Pininfarina’s 80th anniversary. Although this car is estimated to be priced at £1.7 million, the SA Aperta is still a unique car in Hamilton’s car collection.
Lewis Hamilton owns other Classic American Muscle cars
Lewis Hamilton’s interests aren’t limited only to fast sportscars as the Briton also owns some American Muscle cars. The impressive car collection also includes the 1996 Shelby Cobra 427 and the 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The Mustang was customized by an American tuner following the purchase to bring it to its pristine condition.
Mustang Shelby owned and customized by Hamilton is also a close replica of ‘Eleanor’ from the film ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. Also, the Shelby Cobra 426 was estimated to have an astonishing price tag of around £4 million.
As a result, Lewis Hamilton continues to extend his car collection apart from racing in Formula 1. The car collection estimated to be around £13 million differs majorly from his colleagues in F1. The former world champion now aims to contend for the world championship once again and return to his old winning ways.
