Sergio Perez’s take on his DRAMATIC Turn 1 incident at the Miami GP
While Sergio Perez had an unexpected experience ahead of the Miami GP, the former was in the limelight from the very first lap of the 57-lap race! Going into Turn 1, Perez dived on the inside and almost took out his teammate, Max Verstappen.
During that time, a lot was made of the incident by the pundits and the commentators.
As soon as I dived [to the] inside of Charles, I could see as soon as I hit the brakes there was no grip at all, like we saw yesterday with Lewis. Off-line here, especially into Turn 1, there’s no grip, zero grip down there, and I did struggle quite a bit unfortunately.Sergio Perez said in an interview with F1
Looking at the reaction of the six-time Grand Prix winner, it is quite clear that there was zero grip when he made the risky move of diving on the inside of Turn 1. However, despite the initial error, Sergio Perez was able to recover during the race to come away with a decent fourth-place finish.
