Former Jordan F1 owner Eddie Jordan has shared his thoughts on Red Bull driver Max Verstappen‘s future. Verstappen is currently on a contract with the Milton-Keynes-based team until the end of the 2028 season.

Max Verstappen‘s 2024 season has been a topsy-turvy one so far. He was initially dominant in his escapades, securing seven wins out of the first 10 races. He has since been in struggling form for Red Bull, failing to win in any of the last eight races.

Eddie Jordan has claimed that Verstappen might stay with the team only if he wins the title this year. He has also urged the Milton-Keynes-based outfit to resolve their issues in order to deliver a competitive package to the Dutchman.

I would say Max needs to win the championship in this year 24′ to ensure that he’s still there in 27′.

Eddie Jordan said in the Formula for Success podcast

Verstappen has been rumored to be of interest to many teams, such as Aston Martin and Mercedes, in the future. Even though he has ascertained his future with Red Bull, a lack of improvement in their form might see him part ways.

From my side, I think it could have been handled a bit differently.

Max Verstappen told the media including PlanetF1.com

Daniel Ricciardo‘s former Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen has since critiqued the Austrian outfit regarding the former’s departure. Verstappen claims that his team could have had a better approach in evicting Ricciardo, given the latter’s stature in the sport.

Ricciardo wished to make a return to the Milton-Keynes-based team for one last time before finally stepping out. He was, however, unable to do so and will probably not race in Formula 1 ever again.
