Andretti-Cadillac faced an extremely disappointing situation regarding their entry to the Formula 1 grid. The team is highly unlikely to join the grid as the 11th outfit despite the massive backing from America. However, despite the constant rejection, Ex-F1 team owner Eddie Jordan put forth a bold prediction over the matter.
Formula 1 has continued to garner more American attention in the past few seasons to improve the sport’s popularity. Hence, Andretti’s arrival on the grid would provide more positives than negatives for the sport. As a result, Eddie Jordan pointed out how ‘tough’ the Americans were regarding Andretti joining the grid.
Andretti, see how tough the Americans are going to be with Formula 1 with regard to Andretti.
Eddie Jordan said on the Formula for success podcast
Jordan furthered his point and told the rest of the members of the podcast that they’d be surprised when the former’s point came true. The Irishmen believed that within a year, Andretti-Cadillac would receive approval on their rejected bid. This meant that Andretti would join the Formula 1 grid as the 11th team by 2026, according to the former team owner.
And now I want you, in a year’s time, to come back to me and say, s***, I never saw that coming, I didn’t think they’d get the entry. I’m telling you now, they will be on the grid in ’26.

Andretti-Cadillac continues to work towards acquiring permission to join the F1 grid
Andretti-Cadillac continued to move their motion forward after opening a new factory in Silverstone for ultimately joining Formula 1. Mario Andretti hinted that there would be more massive news and changes coming soon. Moreover, Andretti Sr. ushered his complete focus on his son Michael Andretti’s capabilities.
What I can say is that there will be news and changes, and that my full support goes to my son for all the decisions and choices he has made during this period and will make in the future to manage the situation as best he can.
Mario Andretti told La Gazzetta dello Sport

Formula 1 did not provide a good enough reason to reject Andretti’s F1 bid despite the massive backing for the teams. Moreover, FIA CEO Mohammed Ben Sulayem also advised the team to purchase an existing team on the grid. However, the American constructor is adamant about joining the grid as an independent constructor alongside Cadillac and General Motors.
