Ferrari has been performing well ever since the beginning of the 2024 season. The Italian constructor is extremely close to overtaking Red Bull in the constructors’ championship. Additionally, with Milton Keynes’ degrading pace, Maranello was thought to have it easy. However, the two Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc have faced a disappointing end to the Canadian GP qualifying.
Ferrari had great hopes of matching, if not overtaking Red Bull in the championship run. However, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have suffered an extremely disappointing end to the session. Both the drivers were eliminated in the Q2 session itself. Leclerc will start the race from P11 with Sainz just behind him in P12. Hence, the duo will have an extremely difficult time around the Canadian GP.
Sergio Perez‘s Q1 elimination meant that it would’ve been even easier for the Ferrari drivers to come close to Red Bull in the championship. However, with such qualifying results, the team has a degrading chance of competing in a competition. The reason behind such a shocking end is yet to be revealed. Regardless, the fans are definitely unhappy with the entire ordeal.

Fans shocked by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s Q2 elimination
In a recent tweet on X, multiple fans couldn’t believe their eyes after witnessing such a disappointing end. For the first time since the Belgian GP in 2021, the two Ferrari drivers failed to qualify in the top 10. One fan claimed that the team equipped ‘used tires’ on both the chassis which had no grip. Another fan added that they couldn’t believe this entire situation for the two drivers.
A particular fan declared that Ferrari once again ‘bottled’ one of their races where they were expected to perform. Additionally, one fan claimed that the previous Monaco GP victory for Leclerc meant nothing if they weren’t able to convert it to better results in Canada. Multiple people called the entire thing ‘unbelievable’ due to Ferrari’s recent upgrading performance.

Max was unable to get into Q3 on used tires. How were they expecting Charles and Carlos to do it?!!!

The circuit which should suit us decides to have the worst weather on this weekend with low temperatures which our car hates.
Monaco performance means nothing if it does not translate to traditional circuits

This result was definitely not in the books of Ferrari’s ideas as Leclerc was seen angrily exiting the cockpit. Additionally, Oliver Bearman was also present and showcased a surprised reaction to the situation. Hence, Ferrari will work on the issue in the upcoming race and aim to perform much better results than in the qualifying session.
