Felipe Massa lost out on the 2008 Driver’s Championship against Lewis Hamilton in a highly controversial manner. The Brazilian was on the trajectory to win the title if it wasn’t the Singapore GP Crashgate scandal involving Renault driver Nelson Piquet Jr.

Since then, Massa recently filed a lawsuit against Formula One Management (FOM), the FIA, and the then-F1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone. Despite recent losses in the lawsuit, he has now received his first good news on the matter.

Felipe Massa had set out on fighting the legal battle despite the backlash from the people of the community. Even Bernie Ecclestone had brutally claimed that the results of the 2008 Championship wouldn’t be changed now.

The Brazilian received some bad news on the case and suffered from some setbacks. However, now, he has achieved his first victory in the legal battle as the Judge overseeing the initial case has confirmed that Massa can proceed with the case to trial.

In a social media post, Felipe Massa has talked about his massive delight in achieving a small win, albeit not the entire case. Massa noted that this was a tremendous victory as it was a great day not only for him, but for everyone who loves Formula 1. He added that the court saw the strength of his case and refused to let the controversies of the 2008 season go unnoticed.

This is a tremendous victory – a great day for me, for justice, and for everyone who loves Formula 1. The court has seen the strength of my case and refused to let the defendants silence the truth about 2008. They did everything possible to stop this case, but our fight is for fairness, and today we have won.

Felipe Massa said via Instagram, @massafelipe.

Further, Felipe Massa claimed that the truth will prevail when the entire matter goes to trial soon. After achieving this small win, the ex-Ferrari driver is now more confident than ever. Further, Massa reiterated that justice will be done for all the Brazilian fans of the sport, the Tifosi, and even for the future of the pinnacle of motorsport.

The truth will prevail at trial. We will leave no stone unturned. I am more determined and confident than ever. Justice will be done. For me, for the Brazilians, for the Tifosi, for all motorsport fans who deserve an honest sport, and for the future of Formula 1.
