The teams will transition into new regulations, which will introduce newer power units and ideas for Aston Martin. Further, Alonso applauded Lawrence Stroll and Adrian Newey for being two of the most determined and competitive individuals.

Aston Martin returned to the F1 grid in the 2021 season following a big hiatus from the sport. Though there was massive excitement for their return, their performance was far from ideal. The team suffered from massive ups and downs, despite raking in F1 veteran Fernando Alonso in 2023. Now, the 44-year-old recalls the tough beginnings for the team and how far they’ve come now.

Fernando Alonso accepted that the past couple of years were not easy for him and Aston Martin. However, he reassured that the team learned a lot as they looked to apply those learnings to good use in the 2026 season. Alonso appreciated how everyone in the crew shared a similar hunger to be competitive, as all the efforts were evident from the car’s performance.

The past few years were not easy, but we’ve learned a lot, and that experience always makes you stronger. Everybody in this team shares the same hunger to be competitive, and I have seen how much effort is happening behind the scenes to give us a car we can develop across the season.
