Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso has reminisced on his prolonged career in Formula 1. Alonso races for the Aston Martin team and has been driving at the pinnacle of motorsport for more than 20 years.

Fernando Alonso is regarded as one of the greatest racers due to his skills and longevity in the sport. He has time and again put up performances that have hugely helped his team despite being 43 years old. Alonso is, however, on a turbulent spell, having scored only 62 points for Aston Martin so far this season.

Alonso has recently shared his delight in being an influence and inspiration to multiple generations of the sport. He says that only a few athletes have the privilege of being active for multiple generations of a sport.

I see them in the airports, on the streets, at the track, at my museum. It’s very difficult in any sport to find an athlete who has this connection with two very different generations of fans. It’s a wonderful story to be able to bring things full circle.

Fernando Alonso said to RacingNews365

Alonso is on a contract with Aston Martin until the end of 2026 and is hopeful of finishing his career on a high. The Silverstone-based team is determined to resolve their issues in order to present a competitive package to the Spaniard for 2025.

Fernando Alonso deems new wind tunnel as a game changer for Aston Martin

Aston Martin is set to inaugurate a new state-of-the-art wind tunnel in December this year. Wind tunnels are used to study the aerodynamic characteristics of cars and improve their performance on the track.

We cannot predict the future, but as I said before, I think we have quite good things coming in the next few months in the team, especially the wind tunnel. I would say that is a gamechanger for us. We are using now Mercedes wind tunnel and obviously limited on time, limited when in the week they allowed us to go there and things.

Fernando Alonso via an interview

Alonso has deemed the new wind tunnel a game-changer for the team in the upcoming months. Until recently, the Silverstone-based team was compelled to use the wind tunnel facilities of Mercedes in a limited manner.

The AMR24 has been very contrasting to the previous year’s much more successful AMR23. As the season nears an end, Aston Martin can only hope to trail on an upward trajectory in their developments going forward.
