In 2026 there will be a change in regulations and we will have Adrian Newey working on the project from this April. We have to be excited about having a good year, but winning the championship is a bigger deal. Even so, I already know that expectations are going to be high.

2026 to be a ‘coin toss’ for all F1 teams

The two-time world champion insisted that he wants to fight for the title in 2026. However, he recognized that the new regulations will be a coin toss for teams across the grid. Fernando Alonso hoped that for Aston Martin, the coin toss will be successful to ensure that the British team can potentially become a title contender.

I hope I can enjoy more podiums, some victories, fight for some championships… But I know that 2026 is a year that is a bit of a coin toss for everyone and I hope it lands on heads.

Fernando Alonso stated

The Silverstone-based squad has seen a major overhaul in the past couple of seasons. Though, Aston Martin must now maintain a stable structure ahead of the 2026 season. Fernando Alonso and the British team would first focus on a decent campaign in the upcoming season.
