Fernando Alonso has raced in multiple categories of motorsport in his illustrious career and has secured some impressive results in these racing categories away from Formula 1. The 43-year-old recently revealed that his ultimate target still remains winning a third F1 world championship, despite his racing career is closing the end.
Fernando Alonso had previously given his verdict on returning to Indy500 and becoming the first racer ever to win the Tripple crown, as he already has LeMans and Monoco GP wins on his resume. However, the Asturian didn’t hesitate to accept that he had three chances at Brickyard and still couldn’t secure the race win, so, trying again in the same event wasn’t in the veteran’s plans in the near future.
Clearly the Triple Crown is very attractive to me, that is, winning Monaco F1, Le Mans and the Indy500. But with the Indy500 I tried three times and I couldn’t. Trying again is not in my plans at the moment.
Fernando Alonso told formulapassion.it.
In the meantime, the two times champion, who recently signed a contract extension with Aston Martin, has some big goals in F1. Alonso is very focused on his duties in the pinnacle of motorsport in the coming years. He wants to win a third world championship, and it is his ‘first and only priority’ for at least till his current F1 contract ends.
I’m very, very focused on F1: in the next two or three years I want to win the third world title. It is currently my first and only priority.
Fernando Alonso added.
Fernando Alonso revealed his ‘next challenge’ post-F1 retirement
Winning the iconic Dakar Rally is a massive feat that is attained by only a handful of Formula One drivers. For Fernando Alonso winning the Rally is the next challenge he wants to undertake. The Asturian would feel ‘enormously gratified’ if he were able to win the event currently hosted in the desert of Saudi Arabia.

I have other goals, my next challenge will be the Dakar Rally. If I could win it, I would be enormously gratified. As a driver, being able to win in Endurance at Le Mans and Daytona, in F1 and then also in Rally would mean a lot
Fernando Alonso noted.
Fernando Alonso has continued to perform extremely well despite the underwhelming Aston martin chassis In F1 as the 43-year-old has maintained a top 10 position in the championship standings. Now with Adrian Newey joining the team in 2025, Alonso expects his performance to only go upwards and become a championship contender.
