Fernando Alonso suffered from a woeful outing in the 2025 season. The Asturian was unable to achieve any notable results over the year. However, the year ended rather positively for him as his longtime girlfriend, Melissa Jimenez, is reportedly pregnant, with the delivery being expected around March 2026. Now, amid the ongoing winter break, Alonso was spotted in a flashy Mercedes car around his Monaco residence.

Many drivers tend to spend their off-time with their families and partners and enjoy vacations to exotic locations. Charles Leclerc, for example, is set to visit the Antarctic over the winter break with his now-fiancée, Alexandra Saint Mleux. Meanwhile, the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will take time off from the grid and social media and spend their entire team either working on their other projects or with their families.

However, Fernando Alonso begs to differ as he does not stop making headlines even during the off-season. Recently, Alonso took social media by storm when he was spotted driving his multi-million dollar Mercedes-Benz CLK in and around Monaco. The Asturian was presumably driving around with his girlfriend, Melissa Jimenez, while the people around took quick note of the event.

Moreover, Fernando Alonso’s Mercedes-Benz CLK dons the number plate of ‘1414’, showcasing his chassis number in Formula 1 and other motorsports as well. The Mercedes CLK is certainly one of the better options in cars for Alonso, as the naturally aspirated engine produces over 622 horsepower and 539 lb ft of torque. Additionally, the car is capable of reaching speeds well above 180 mph.

Mercedes has only ever produced 28 road-legal versions of the Mercedes-Benz CLK. Out of these, only 20 cars are coupes, the one Fernando Alonso rides in style with. As such, the two-time champion is one of just 20 of these cars in the entire world. Reports suggest that the car’s current valuation is anywhere between $4 million and $10 million.

Fernando Alonso helps the environment by planting trees on his home soil

Fernando Alonso is a no-nonsense guy who doesn’t go out for flashy parties and controversial headlines. The Asturian enjoys his life and keeps to himself when not racing out on the track. As such, apart from making the news and driving his flashy cars, Alonso also planted some trees near the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya.

Notably, Fernando Alonso planted the holm oak tree at Masia de la Moreneta of the circuit. The circuit’s social media page revealed how the ambassador for the race was helping keep the circuit alive. The Barcelona circuit is replaced by the Madrid circuit to host the Spanish GP from the 2026 season. Regardless, Alonso helped plant over 200 trees in and around the circuit to keep the track alive for its return in the near future.

Apart from his off-track activities, Fernando Alonso will soon need to return to the grid and put his mind where it matters. Aston Martin has continued to rake in lucrative figures to help boost the team’s performance on-track. As such, it might not be very surprising if Alonso emerges as a race-winning force in the coming year.
